The May 2-4 long weekend is nearly here, offering you a much needed extra day off from work. How can you relax and reboot over the holiday? For today’s post, the Hazelview Properties blog team has put together a few ideas for a low-key weekend near Ottawa apartments.
A day at the beach
Celebrate the start of spring with a low-key afternoon at a neighbourhood park or beach. Bring a book, pack a lunch and throw in a frisbee for outdoor fun with friends and family. Near Sunset Heights & Sunview Apartments (2880 & 2900 Carling Avenue), walk just across the street to picturesque Britannia Beach (2805 Carling Avenue), located along the shores of the Ottawa River.
Visit a farmers market
Over the May 2-4 long weekend, treat yourself to a laid-back stroll through a local farmers market, grabbing a light lunch to go or fresh produce to enjoy at home. The Ottawa Farmers Market at Landsdowne Park (1000, Exhibition Way) is the city’s only year-round producer-only market. Beginning May 1st, the market transitions to regular Spring and Summer hours (9:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m.) on Sundays. Warren Arms Apartments (222 Maclaren Street) is a 10-minute bike ride from the park.
Canadian Tulip Festival
Ottawa’s beloved Canadian Tulip Festival continues through Victoria Day, May 23rd. The festival is one more reason to visit Landsdowne Park, a 10-minute drive or 15-minute bike ride from Castle Towers Apartments (1161 & 1171 Wellington Street West). In addition to the beautiful blossoming flowers, Thursday through Sunday there will be art displays, events and live performances inside the park’s Aberdeen Tulip Pavilion. Festivities run from 9:00 a.m. until midnight. The Hazelview Properties blog team hopes today’s post helps you plan a fun and low-key May 2-4 weekend close to home.
