Celebrate National Honey Month and Plan a Honey Party!

Partager:

September is not only the transitional month between summer and fall, it’s also National Honey Month. If you haven’t made plans, Hazelview Properties wants to help you celebrate National Honey Month and plan a honey party!

Plan a Potluck

A Honey Party is a great way to say goodbye to summer, welcome in the fall, and connect with your friends and neighbours. A Honey Party is a honey-themed potluck. Every dish should contain honey, but that doesn’t mean everything has to be sweet. Here are some great ideas for savoury honey-based dishes to share:

Honey-Brined Grilled Shrimp

(4 servings, 6 shrimp per person)

Honey is used three ways in this Honey-Brined Grilled Shrimp recipe. It’s added to the brine so the shrimp absorb some sweetness. Those same shrimp are tossed in honey before grilling, and drizzled with honey after grilling. Sweet!

Lemon-Honey Chicken Thighs

(4 servings)

These sticky sweet and sour Lemon-Honey Chicken Thighs are easy to prepare and delicious. The recipe can be made with thighs or chicken breasts if you prefer. If you make chicken breast, cook them about 6 minutes per side.

Honey-Roasted Carrots

(4 to 6 servings)

When you make these Honey-Roasted Carrots, choose carrots that are approximately the same size to ensure even cooking. If you want to make the recipe more kid-friendly, you can swap out the bourbon for apple juice.

Baklava

(16 servings)

Baklava is a rich and sweet dessert from the Middle-East. It’s made with layers of flaky and delicate phyllo dough, chopped nuts (optional) and lots of honey (essential). It’s the perfect shareable dessert to pack up and travel with.

Hazelview hopes you have a ball throwing a sweet Honey Party potluck this month.
