About the Park

Mount Royal Park is a green oasis in the heart of urban Montreal. Enjoy gorgeous views of both the downtown core and the lush green spaces of the park right from our Montreal community at 1212 Ave des Pins. This park was designed by Frederick Law Olmstead in 1876, the creator of the New York City’s famous Central Park and boasts a vast network of walking paths and stairs that will lead you to a number of unique wooded areas and landscapes. This 200-hectare park is also home to numerous education, conservation and recreational activities.

Mount Royal Park is open year round and full of exciting things to do and see. Some of the park’s features include

Mount Royal Park offers rental shops for cross-country skis, ice skates, rowboats, sailboats, snowshoes and toboggans.

Mount Royal Park is also home to a number of day camps, educational camps, exhibitions, plant life observation lookouts and guided tours. People can check out the Smith House on the park’s premises, which is a heritage building that offers education and reception services to visitors. Beaver Lake is another great park feature to check out and is a man-made lake where guests can take out a rowboat and enjoy a scenic park view. Popular park lookouts that offer beautiful views for nature lovers include the Camillien-Houde Drive, Kondiaronk and Crags Trail options.
