Telus Spark Science Centre
There’s always something fascinating to discover at the science centre! From now until June 9th, you can check out Circus! and learn more about the science behind it. Get ready for elastic acrobats, juggling, sword swallowers and interactive exhibitions. Visit the Dome Theatre and discover everything about the universe through a movie or live planetarium show. Whatever you end up seeing, you won’t be disappointed. Grab your tickets at Telus Spark -- they're a steal at just $26 for adults and $19 for kids.
The Hanger Flight Museum
This museum is the perfect place to learn everything about flying and airplanes. The Hanger Flight Museum, formerly known as the Aero Space Museum of Calgary, holds 20 aircrafts, as well as uniforms, exhibits and stories from people who designed and flew the aircrafts. There are some historically important aircrafts here that will fascinate both adults and kids -- so there’s something for everyone to enjoy here. Tickets are just $15 for adults and $8 for kids.
The Calgary Zoo
The Calgary Zoo is always a great place to visit with your family. This March Break, check out the Penguin Walk, which happens daily at 11 am, and allows visitors to observe king penguins as they waddle through the zoo. You can also take the opportunity to see giant pandas and learn more about these incredible animals -- all while you eat breakfast! Plus, don’t miss a very unique Safari brunch event, which happens every Sunday, in the heart of Destination Africa. If these activities are of no interest to you, spend your time exploring six acres of botanical gardens, a prehistoric park and 1000 creatures.
Bow Habitat Station
The Bow Habitat Station is another great option for a fun family adventure day. Get ready to learn all about Alberta’s fish, wildlife and the importance of water in our world by visiting the Discovery Centre. Check out the Interpretive Wetlands and wander around the natural trails. The Bow Habitat Station is open Monday to Saturday, from 10 am to 4 pm. Admission is just $10 for adults and $6 for kids.
Calgary Police Interpretive Centre
If you’re looking for something fun and free, Calgary’s Police Museum is the place to go. Explore 50 exhibits, true-crime displays and learn all about what it takes to keep a city like Calgary safe. Don’t miss the Forensic Lab, where you can learn all about identifying fingerprints and blood spatter analysis, and also put your crime-solving skills to the test.
